Staff Overview & Job Descriptions

Boulder Ridge Day Camp is a great place to spend your summer! We hire high school students, college students, and college graduates (teachers, health care professionals, etc.) to be a part of our Boulder Ridge staff.  Boulder Ridge Day Camp needs both specialty and general counselors to help out our program.  The staff at Boulder Ridge Day Camp is comprised of men and women from Litchfield County, Hartford County and all around the world. If you are looking for a great way to spend your summer working with interesting people in one of Connecticut's most beautiful areas, please fill out and submit an application today.

Staff are needed from June 15^th through August 27^th, 2010.  This includes 1 week of staff training plus 8 weeks of camp.  First consideration will be given to applicants who are able to commit to the full summer. 

Job Descriptions, Forms, and Information

Generally speaking, each summer we hire for:

·         Junior Counselors:
Assist Senior Counselors in supervising groups of campers.
Participate in all activities.
Must be at least a High School student, at least 16 years of age.
CURRENTLY, NO MORE JUNIOR COUNSELOR POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2010.

·         Senior Counselors:
Supervise groups of campers.
Participate in all activities.
Must be at least 18 years old, a High School graduate and, preferably a College student.

·         Program Area Counselors:
Staff specializing in one activity area, able to teach groups of students.
PACs are needed for all of camps’ activities.  Specific certifications may be required.
Must be at least a High School graduate, preferably a College student, at least 18 years of age.

·         Lifeguard/Swim Instructors:
LGT/WSI certifications are required for this position.  Certification classes are available in June.
Must be at least a High School graduate, preferably a College student, at least 18 years of age.

CIT Program

14 and 15 year olds may be eligible to participate in the Counselor In Training program.  This program involves shadowing and assisting Camper Groups as well as Activity Areas.
