Electives will be chosen daily by the campers and include most all of the activities that we have at camp (each day 2 - 3 activities are set aside for the youngest campers during elective, this changes daily).
LIT Program (For campers entering 7th grade and up)
The LIT program will allow our older campers who are not old enough to be CITs, to assist younger campers at certain times throughout the day.
CIT Program (For 14 and 15 year olds)
The Boulder Ridge CIT Program is open to prior BRDC campers who will be 14 or 15 during the summer. Applications are mailed to all prior year eligible campers in December and are due by January 31st. If you have any questions or need another application please contact us.
Campers entering 3rd grade and above will embark on 2 Quests each week. (K-2 see below) Campers will choose their Quests every Monday morning. Generally, their First Quest will meet each morning for one period, and their Second Quest will meet each afternoon. Quests will give campers the ability to focus on and improve in an area they love the most. Quest options will vary week to week.
Examples of Quests Include:
Arts and Crafts - Scrap Books
Archery - Highest Score Competition
Mountain Bikes - Exploring Trails
Outdoor Adventure - Learning Survival Skills
Workshop - Building and testing a Rube Goldberg Machine
Science - Creating and erupting a volcano
Performing Arts - Writing and practicing a play to perform
Ropes - Climbing Skills & Time Trials
Pedal Karts - BRDC "Driver's License" Course
American Red Cross Babysitting Certification
Please note these are only examples! Quests will be offered by each of our activities every week!
In order to keep our Quests age appropriate, campers entering 2nd* - 4th grade will choose from half of the options for the First Quest and the other half of the options for Second Quest. Campers entering 5th - 8th grade will choose from the opposite set of Quests as the younger campers.
Campers entering First Grade or younger will have swim lessons during their first Quest. Their second Quest will be an age appropriate group activity led by our K-2 Coordinator.
*Campers entering Second Grade will chose a morning Quest and have swim lessons during the Second Quest period. Their quest options will rotate weekly: one week they will be able to choose from half of the options and next week they will choose from the other half.
PLEASE NOTE: The following is a list of our normal camp schedule and programs. These will be modified to comply with the Covid 19 guidelines in place at the time of camp and some programs may not be offered. Please check our Covid 19 Update for the latest information.
